Favorite Gingerbread Recipe
Personally, I am an absolute FAN of Gingerbread everything! I bake Gingerbread cookies for friends and family and end up eating them myself, LOL! The thought of Gingerbread in a cake is just Heavenly! Here is a bit of history of this particular recipe.
This Favorite Old Fashioned Scratch Gingerbread Recipe dates back to the 1870’s
where it was featured in a Gold Metal Cook Book and instantly became a
popular recipe for 19th Century brides.
Gingerbread was favorited by Early American colonists in the late 1700’s just as much as it is a favorite now. The Gingerbread recipe that I will share with you today is called a “Fort Atkinson Gingerbread”. Still today Fort Atkinson, Missouri is known for their Gingerbread related activities.
