No one can resist the smell of a homemade apple pie baking; and likewise, no one can resist the taste of a delicious homemade apple pie. This pie is one of my favorite All-Time desserts. I call it All-Time because, unlike other pies that are great in the fall or winter, Apple Pie is just great year-round.
A Scratch Apple Pie Recipe Made with Fresh Apples
RECIPE Apple Pie Ready in 70 minutes Serves 8 people
Apple Pie Filling Ingredients:
· ¾ cups Sugar
· 1 TBSP cornstarch
· 1 tsp cinnamon
· 6 cups sliced, pared and cored apples
· 1 TBSP lemon juice
· 1 TBSP unsalted butter
This apple pie recipe can be made so many different ways. In the pie pictured, I bought a deep dish pie crust; but if you’d prefer homemade, here is a homemade pie crust recipe.
The apples take longer to peel and cut especially if you use smaller apples. But, to save time, you can purchase a container of pre-cut apples and get right to the baking.
Whichever method you use, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the result!
Prepare Homemade Pie Crust and place in a pie dish
Mix together sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
Place apples in pastry lined baking pan and dot with butter.
Cover with the top crust.
Bake until crust is nicely browned and apples are cooked through.
Bake in the oven at 425 degrees for 50 minutes to 60 minutes
Serve warm or cold and may be topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
