What goes very well with Thanksgiving dinner is an awesome, easy green bean casserole. This recipe is simply 5 ingredients. Usually, when prepping Thanksgiving dinner, I bake all of my sweets on the day before and dedicate all of my time thereafter with prepping the turkey, dressings, etc. However, the simple recipes are the last to prepare.
This is a simple no-fuss recipe and you may already have the ingredients for in your pantry.
I have a beautiful casserole dish that I love to use on holidays that was passed down by my grandmother. For this recipe, butter your favorite, bake-able 2-quart casserole dish, drain the liquid from two 16 ounce cans of cut green beans and pour green beans into the dish. Add one can of cream of mushroom (I substitute cream of chicken soup sometimes for a richer flavor). Flavor with a teaspoon of red pepper and a teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well with the beans. Sprinkle French fried onions and shredded cheese on top and bake uncovered at 350 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle top with paprika for chopped parsley for a pop of color.
