When I think back to how Easter was for me as a child, I remember it being centered on religion. Spring break was always the week before Easter or Holy Week. Each day of the week was a memorial for a certain activity that coincided with a biblical story.  My family took trips each year to different places that held these activities.  The Friday before Easter wasn’t just Good Friday it was Holy Friday, and the Saturday before Easter was Holy Saturday. Activities such as Saint Josephs Monument Visit, Palm Sunday, the Washing of the Feet, the Veneration, Adoration, the Living Stations of the Cross were commonplace.

Fast-forward now and it seems that although those events still occur, there is so much pressure to not speak about religion. The silencing of religion trickles down to the silencing of religious activities as well.  While I do not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, I also do want to share the joy, goodness, light of Christ, and knowledge of HIS holidays.

Easter has never been about an Easter Bunny and basket. It has always been about the beautiful gift of Life that Christ gave to us.

That is why these Cross Cupcakes are so special. It’s simply beautiful to share the light of Christ and the gift that Christ gave to us by his death on the cross.
