Some things just make Christmas extra special; like Christmas Candy and Candy Canes especially candies that are actually cookies. For a cookie lover, you can’t get better than that.
Christmas Candy Decorated
When I grew up, my family always had a Christmas tree that was decorated not only with traditional ornaments but also with Candy Canes. I loved seeing the tree dripping with candy because it always meant that there was an extra treat anytime I could sneak one away.
Funny thing was; even though my mom knew that my brother and I was sneaking the candy canes off of the tree, she always just bought more.
So, when I thought about decorated Christmas cookies, I naturally gravitated towards the candy cutters. This cookie decorating set uses only two cookie cutters.
A Candy Cane and a Wrapped Candy Cookie Cutter.
Here are the links to those cookie cutters. Both can be purchased on Amazon.
I literally had to have the candy cookie cutter when I saw it because I saw Christmas. Now I used this cutter for a Halloween Candy set that I gave to my son’s daycare teachers once.
I used some pretty sparkly techniques to decorate these cookies that made them unique. Here are a few of the tools that I used:
Sanding Sugar – White and Sanding Sugar – Red
I’ve embedded the tutorial video to this blog post for your use. So tune in, bake up a few of these cookies, and watch the video.
Oh, by the way; forgot to mention that the cookies used in this tutorial were made using my Gingerbread Sugar Cookie Recipe. I have prepared an eBook with 12 different sugar cookie recipes – each one corresponding to a different month. If you’re interested, here is the link to check it out.
I decorated these cookies with red sanding sugar, green sanding sugar, the cookie-cutter, and a few other common cookie decorating tools.
I’ve embedded the video tutorial here to this post so that you can tune in and watch how these cookies are decorated. I decorated these cookies during a LIVE cookie decorating session in my Smart Cookie U Facebook group. Click here to request access and be part of the LIVE while it is happening! See you inside!!
I’ve also designed some freebies for this time of year. If you’re a fan of writing on cookies, whether it be fancy lettering or just adding details to a decorated cookie then you’ll find this guide very helpful – 3 Ways to Write on Cookies.
